The production of a custom-made road bike at the Antymateria store begins with determining the future user's needs (i.e., creating a precise specification for the bike). Once everything is determined, the frame and other components are first painted (in the case of multi-layer paint jobs, the entire painting process is repeated several times). The next step is assembling the bike (including hand-lacing the wheels – which ensures their strength and stiffness, and also allows for customization of the colors of the hubs, rims, and spokes). After the seatpost is placed, the headset is seated using a press, and the fork is bolted on, the stem, handlebars, and other components are attached, including the bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, derailleurs, shifters, levers, and brakes. Finally, the wheels are mounted, the appropriate chain length is selected, and the position of the brake pads and calipers is adjusted. Then, the cables and housings are installed, and the headset, brakes, and derailleurs are adjusted. Accessories are also installed, such as grips, a saddle, lights, bells, and other accessories like stickers and tape. Before the bike is issued to the rider, it is thoroughly tested. When the bike is picked up, everything is carefully adjusted to the user's needs. We provide all the information on proper use of the city bike and offer advice on how to maintain it in top condition. Another important element of city bike production is a basic inspection approximately two weeks after the bike is picked up. This is a quick checkup of the bike, during which the spoke tension is adjusted.
