Grips and wraps

Grips and tape are the parts of a bicycle (besides the saddle and pedals) that we interact with practically all the time. Grips are also commonly called grips. They are used on straight handlebars called risers and swallowtails, regardless of the type of bike they're mounted on. They're typically made of soft rubber or plastics with similar characteristics. Tape is a tape made of foam, rubber, natural leather, or faux leather. The tape has an adhesive strip on the inside. It's mainly used on road handlebars called "lamb" handlebars or "bullhorns," the basic handlebars for time trials. Currently, it's fashionable to apply tape to riser handlebars on fixed gear and single speed bikes. Although it sounds simple, applying the tape properly requires some practice (maintaining the correct wrapping direction is also crucial). Choosing the right set of grips and tapes is only possible by considering the bike's intended use. Tapes are the best at absorbing moisture, but they are also the least durable. For those riding several hundred kilometers (which practically means anyone who regularly rides around town farther than just to get bread at the store), this means changing the tape before the next season. On fixed-gear bikes (and also on most of our custom-built bikes), we use rubber grips, originally designed for BMX bikes, ensuring a very secure grip. We regularly stock tapes and grips in every imaginable color (including gold, pink, and turquoise) and material. We offer tapes and grips from PRO, Dartmoor, Oury, Brooks, Cinelli, Deda, and BBB.
