Bicycle tires - new on the market

November is upon us, leaving no doubt that cycling season has ended for most of us. While our bikes are resting in anticipation of spring, it's worth taking a moment to briefly analyze our equipment. We don't often think about tires, at least not until they're flat and have some tread. Tires are, after all, the only part of a bike that directly touches the road. Therefore, they determine how the bike handles and, above all, impact our safety! It's worth carefully considering which bicycle tires to choose to meet your expectations and needs. Manufacturers regularly release new models or upgrades to older ones. We've selected a few new products worth checking out.

Tires from Schwalbe - for city and off-road use

Schwalbe offers a new iteration of the well-known CX Comp model, which performs perfectly on both lighter terrain and asphalt. This means you can easily take on longer bike rides on Polish roads, regardless of the surface. At the same time, its high durability makes it an excellent option for urban use for those who don't mind kerbs. Thanks to new rubber manufacturing technology, we achieve increased grip in corners, which is equally effective for commuting or city travel, as well as on slightly rougher unpaved trails with a bit of gravel and rocks . The tread remains unchanged from the previous model; it still features a shallow knob in the center and thicker tread on the edges. This allows for low rolling resistance on smooth surfaces and relatively good cornering grip in more challenging conditions. Schwalbe CX Comp Bicycle Tire The Schwalbe Lugano is the manufacturer's entry-level road tire. Professionals use it for training, as it offers good grip and comfort at a reasonable price. An internal Kevlar Guard system protects the tire against punctures, providing a sense of security. The Schwalbe Lugano's new dynamic tread offers improved grip and lower rolling resistance than its predecessor. The tire is available in a variety of widths and specifications, with the 25C width also available in colorful finishes. It's worth noting the presence of the Lugano Endurance model, made of a harder compound and designed specifically for city bikes or fixed-gear bikes. Schwalbe Lugano bicycle tire

Vittoria - versatility and durability

Vittoria is a brand familiar to anyone who has ever been interested in cycling. It's worth noting two popular models from this manufacturer, which undergo gradual modifications year after year. The first is the Vittoria Rubino Pro, a versatile model suitable for a variety of conditions. It utilizes puncture-resistant technology and a 150 TPI nylon casing, making it exceptionally durable. The manufacturer also boasts the inclusion of graphene in the compound to improve grip and rolling resistance based on current speed. The second tire is the Vittoria Zaffiro, a wire-wound version extremely popular with fixed-gear bike owners, anyone needing a versatile tire for city riding or as an affordable training tire. In the current version, only the puncture-resistant casing has been improved.

Winter bicycle tires from Schwalbe and Kenda

Not everyone gives up on winter cycling . Both those who love to ride in the snow and those who simply want to commute on unplowed roads will find something interesting. The Ice Spiker Pro model from Schwalbe excels on snow and ice, and its durable embedded spikes provide traction on slippery and wet surfaces. Four hundred and two tungsten carbide spikes are connected to the aluminum casing of the tire. This allows for an exceptionally durable winter tire while maintaining a relatively low weight. Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro Bicycle Tire The Kenda Klondike is a decidedly more modest offering, featuring a less aggressive tread and traditional stud technology. It's a worthwhile option for touring or commuting bikes. Its special tread profile effectively sheds excess mud and snow, and the narrower versions available are ideal for frames and forks with less ground clearance. Of course, we're describing a small part of the constantly evolving and evolving bicycle tire market. We'll certainly be returning to this topic, particularly the increasingly popular tubeless tires. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask, and remember – a well-chosen tire is essential for a pleasant ride!
