Antymateria is a project born from passion. We've always been fascinated by bicycles, and our interest in them wasn't limited to riding alone. Thousands of kilometers (sic!) covered in a variety of conditions (classic races, marathons, cyclocross, track fun, etc.) have been and always will be a source of practical knowledge for us about what's most important in equipment, what's prone to the most common problems, which components and materials perform best, and above all, which offer a reasonable price-to-quality ratio. Each member of our five-person team can assemble (almost) any bike themselves. For years, we've performed all kinds of service work on our own bikes and are constantly testing new solutions and ideas. As immodest as it may sound, we believe we know our stuff, especially when it comes to lightweight and functional city bikes. In addition to city bikes, we also enjoy designing and creating road, cyclocross, trekking, and virtually any other model, tailored to our customers' needs and requirements.
Why is a custom bike a good idea?
Let's start with the most important thing. A custom-designed bike is a solution for everyone. You don't need to be an expert on bikes; you just need to know what you'll be using it for (city/country/sports), how often you'll use it, and what you like (colors, materials, etc.). The rest—specific suggestions, pricing, sample photos, and specifications—is our job.
Mass-produced bicycle models have their upsides and downsides, but their specifications and construction are always driven by corporate profit and loss statements. We also make money assembling bicycles, but we pour a tremendous amount of heart and passion into each individual project, treating them as our own creations. Perhaps not works of art, as bicycles are hardly qualified to be called that, but we're happy to be creating something unique.
Model bike
The bicycle market is governed by the inexorable laws of marketing. We strive to challenge these laws. When you're designing your own bike, you lose the need to think about a specific model year. We don't have to be guided by what salespeople deem incredibly fashionable and interesting at a given time. We're not limited by off-the-shelf colors or the philosophy behind individual models (even though we've been working with bicycles both professionally and amateurishly for years, we still don't understand why buying a bike in Poland is often akin to the socialist approach of "they just dropped a red S-I-M-A-N-S-O-R-A-Gear).
Carefully selected
And less grandiose? The bikes we build are simply more robust than mass-produced bikes. We carefully select all the remaining parts for the frame to maximize their potential. And your budget. Our hands and minds work with greater care than factory-made tapes. Because
custom-assembling a bike is a joy for us. While this may not be an option for every customer, we welcome those interested in building their own wheel. We guarantee that the pleasure of the process itself (not to mention the gratuitous nagging from service technicians during the inevitable trial and error process) and owning such a wheel will be incomparable to the thrill of buying a finished bike.
How long does it take to assemble a custom bike?
In this respect, it all depends on your needs. We strive to have all the most popular parts in-house; in most cases, your bike will be ready for collection within a week (well, maybe not during peak season...). However, if your project is more unusual, custom-made frames or a particularly difficult-to-find component can add up to two weeks to the process. This is the nature of assembling a custom bike from the best parts. If you want your frame custom-painted, that will also take some time—at least a week. We never mess up.
We give a guarantee
Even if you have to wait a bit, we guarantee that you'll enjoy riding your bike for a very long time. We guarantee this, both literally and formally. Although our warranty is technically for two years, we don't hold back, and if a problem arises after that period that can't be attributed to careless riding or misuse (we've had similar situations), we won't leave you stranded.
A custom-made bike, how much does it cost?
A custom-
built bike at Antymateria costs at least 1,600 PLN. Expensive? If you want your bike to be truly well-made (and we don't accept other orders) and not fail at the first turn, this is the reality. The upper limit depends solely on your needs and requirements. Tell us about it, provide a possible budget, and we'll find the best solutions. We offer warranties on all our bikes with a clear conscience. We respect our competitors. But in today's climate, if someone offers a custom-built bike below this price, it usually means compromises. A cheap frame from Allegro, random components picked from a sale. No worries about such natural circumstances as the existence of ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) and the Tax Office (tax authorities) (you'll receive a receipt or invoice for every bike we offer; you can easily include the cost of purchasing such an economical and eco-friendly means of personal transportation in your expenses...).
Or maybe a ready-made bike?
We enjoy building custom bikes. In our few free moments, when we don't have orders or are waiting for parts, we also build bikes... It's pure pleasure. Visit one of our stores. Except for emergency situations (e.g., a rush of customers before a long weekend), we strive to have the full range of our base models (most common colors and options) in every store. If you don't want to wait, we'll try to have you riding your
new bike the same day.
