What apps for cycling

Mobile apps make it easy to eat fries or count steps on the treadmill, so it would be strange, to say the least, if we didn't have the option to use them on a bike. Phone cycling apps are available in both the Google Play Store and on iOS. Depending on the solution the app designers have chosen, you'll gain practical navigation that will allow you to undertake cycling excursions, or you can choose one that replaces a bicycle computer, informing you about your speed, calories burned, and many other parameters. Here are some of the cycling apps we find most useful.

Google Maps

Google Maps The first app we can successfully use on a bike is Google Maps. We often use it in the car or during a trip to an unfamiliar city, but it's also excellent on a bike. This incredibly widespread software, combined with computer-based route planning, can become the foundation for our cycling journeys . Google Maps is available on both Android and iOS without spending a penny. The app shows various route options, which we can choose from, is very easy to use, and the interface is clear and easy to read. Because Google is the largest provider of marketing services, the app also provides information about local restaurants, shops, and attractions. However, it doesn't offer solutions specifically designed for cyclists, beyond route customization. Unfortunately, this feature isn't enough to meet the expectations of every cyclist. Endomondo Endomondo also offers real-time speed and calorie burn tracking, and displays a live map of the route you're taking. There's also a useful voice feedback feature for cycling progress. The Endomondo Sports Tracker designers also included a motivating module in the form of a virtual coach. The app can be easily synced with a heart rate monitor and some smartwatches. On the website www.endomondo.com and within the app itself, you'll find a training journal with a history of your routes and related data, allowing you to track your cycling progress. Google Fit/Apple Health

Google Fit

Apple health These two apps are perfect for cycling and are an alternative to Endomondo, especially if you don't need the support of a large portal or information about other users. Both apps record your route and its parameters and automatically detect your activity type if your phone's GPS is enabled. You'll also get activity charts with data from the last day, week, or month. This makes it easier to track your progress and plan your future training. The ability to enter your height and weight, necessary for calculating your BMI, provides information about your weight loss, which will undoubtedly motivate many people to get on a bike.

Zaplanować trasę to makabra, aplikacja narzuca swoje punkty przelotowe albo całe odcinki trasy. Jeżeli jakimś cudem wyznaczycie trasę i ją zapiszecie, potrafi ją zmienić w trakcie przejazdu. Ogólnie – syf nad syfy, czekam na zakończenie płatnej opcji planowania tras i zmieniam na coś innego. Ten sezon mam stracony przez to badziewie (chociaż nie – nauczyłem się kląć piętrowo i seriami).
