Custom bikes are our passion
We've been on the market for (or maybe just) three years now, and I think it's time for a little summary. Yes, we summarize every year and share our achievements with you. Something's always changing, but one thing hasn't changed for us. As we wrote at the very beginning, we're still fascinated by bikes! The difference is that now we're no longer just riding, we're making them—designing, painting, assembling, and perfecting them. This is almost daily, with breaks for servicing the bikes we receive. Over that time, our team has grown and shrunk, but now there are four of us, and each member of our team can assemble (almost) any bike on their own. Over the past three years, we've done a great job, assembling 500 bikes for you. Modest or not, we're proud of our bikes. Especially since two bikes are rarely alike.
Urban bikes are urban bikes , but that's not all. We're happy to create
road ,
cyclocross , and
trekking models—in fact, anything you need. You can also configure our custom bikes just the way you want!
Why custom-made bikes?
Because you don't have to buy a "ready-made" bike that you have to adjust to. Our philosophy is that the bike adapts to you. You don't need to know anything about bikes; all you need is a good idea of where, how often, and why you'll be riding it. You'll also decide what color and accessories you want for your bike. The rest—specific suggestions, quotes, sample photos, and specifications—is our job.
Why not an off-the-shelf bike?
On the store shelves, you'll find bikes from well-known and lesser-known brands, for both small and large sums of money. The appearance of a bike and its components are always determined by the profit and loss statement. Browsing through the bikes, you'll see that they're all practically the same. Same colors, same components, same wheels, and all the extras. Sure, you can look for something custom-made, but the costs are enormous, hovering around several thousand złoty, and you can choose from a wide range of components, but the frame and color will always be the same. Of course, the specifications and workmanship are always determined by corporate profit and loss statements. We also make money assembling bikes, but we pour a lot of heart and passion into each individual project, treating them as our own works. Maybe not works of art, because that's hardly the right word for bikes, but we're happy to create something unique. We create bikes that reflect the buyer's personality, and we know they'll feel good riding them.
Color, what color?
The bicycle market is governed by the inexorable laws of marketing. We strive to challenge these laws. When you're designing your own bike, you lose the need to think about the "model year." We don't have to be guided by what salespeople deem incredibly fashionable and interesting at a given time. We're not limited by off-the-shelf colors or the philosophy behind individual models (even though we've been working with bicycles both professionally and amateurishly for years, we still don't understand why buying a bike in Poland is often akin to the socialist approach of "they just dropped the red ones with Shimano Sora derailleurs!!!").
Solidly made custom bikes
And less grandiose? The bikes we build are simply more robust than mass-produced bikes. We carefully select all the remaining parts for the frame to maximize their potential. And your budget. Our hands and minds work with greater care than factory tape. Because custom-assembling a bike is a joy for us. While this may not be for every customer, we invite those interested to build their own wheel. We guarantee that the pleasure of the process itself (not to mention the gratuitous nagging from service technicians during the inevitable trial and error process) and owning such a wheel will be incomparable to the thrill of buying a finished bike.
How long does it take to assemble a custom bike?
It depends on your needs. Unless your bike idea requires ordering any extras not available locally, in most cases, assembly will take a week at most. Perhaps not during peak season, when the timeframe may be longer, but we'll let you know upfront how long it might take. If your design is more unusual (frame, color, or components particularly difficult to find), the assembly process can take up to four weeks. Custom bikes also pose a logistical challenge, but we strive to keep everything as close to the original as possible.
You have our guarantee.
That's the nature of assembling a custom bike from the best parts. If you want your frame specially painted, that will also take some time – at least a week. We never mess up. Even if you have to wait a while, we guarantee that you'll ride a bike we build for a very long time. We guarantee this, both literally and formally. Although our warranty is technically for two years, we don't hold back, and if a problem arises after that period that can't be blamed on careless riding or misuse (we've had similar situations), we won't leave you stranded.
Custom bike, how much does it cost?
Building a custom bike at Antymateria costs at least 2,500 PLN. Expensive? It depends on how you look at it. If you want your bike to be truly well-made (and we don't accept other orders) and not fail at the first turn, that's the reality. The upper limit depends solely on your needs and requirements. Tell us about it, provide your budget, and we'll find the best solutions. If you find custom bikes below this price, it usually means compromises. A cheap frame from Allegro, random components, or a lack of concern for factors like the existence of social security (ZUS) and tax authorities. With us, you'll receive a receipt or invoice for every bike. You can include the bike in the purchase costs of such an economical and eco-friendly means of personal transportation!
Or maybe a ready-made bike?
Surprisingly, we sometimes have ready-made bikes like these in our
offer. Where do they come from? In our few free moments, when we don't have orders or are waiting for parts, we also assemble bikes... It's pure pleasure. Check out our
website or our store on Skolimowska Street. Except for emergency situations (e.g., a rush of customers before a long weekend), we strive to have a full range of our base models. If you don't want to wait, we'll try to have you riding your new bike the same day.
