Antymateria is the patron of Filip Springer's next book

We support the renowned reporter and writer Filip Springer

When Filip Springer's agent contacted us, asking if we'd like to help prepare the documentation for a new book, I didn't hesitate for long. In fact, I didn't hesitate at all. At Antymateria, we strive to support various projects that positively impact how we think about the city, with an obvious focus on aspects related to getting around. Hence, among other things, our initiative to bring Bike Days to Warsaw. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we couldn't organize the film and bike festival last year. I don't know if the event will take place in 2021. This also influenced our decision to use the funds saved for this occasion for a good and worthwhile cause.

Filip Springer or the history of our spatial contrasts

Anyone interested in urban space, even in the context of transportation, cannot fail to recognize his books. Titles include " Born Wrong. Reports on the Architecture of the Polish People's Republic ," " Wanna z Kolonadą. Reports on Polish Space, " and " Miasto Archipelag. Polska Miasta Małych. Polska Miasta (City Archipelag. Poland of Smaller Towns ). His debut, a collection of reportages entitled Miedzianka. Historia Vanishing (Miedzianka. The Story of a Disappearance), was acclaimed not only by readers. The book reached the finals of the 2011 Ryszard Kapuściński Award for Literary Reportage. It then appeared in the finals of the Nike Literary Award and the 2012 Gdynia Literary Award. What about bicycles?

The author himself summed it up best on his blog: "Normally, it would happen like this: they would give me a bike (and they have nice bikes), and I would ride it around Poland, document it, and take photos of it for Instagram. Except I already have a bike. It's quite good and functional. So we decided not to engage in fiction and support the overproduction of things. I'll ride my bike, which works, and they'll still support me in working on this book." In other words, we support the author financially. And spiritually. Because most importantly, he likes bikes, just like we do. And what's more (and that's what unites us) he doesn't like bullshit. Bridge architecture Filip Springer
