The Best Bike Repair Shop in Wrocław? 5 Reasons to Trust Us for Your Drivetrain Repair

The drivetrain is the heart of a bike. You can have the best frame and carbon wheels, but if the derailleurs aren't working, the chain skips, and the cassette sounds like a coffee machine breaking down, the riding experience is reduced to zero. That's why a drivetrain service isn't just a "tune-up," but the key to getting your bike running like it should again.

There's no shortage of places in Wrocław where you can "tweak" something. But if you're looking for someone to take care of your drivetrain as if they were riding it through the Alps themselves, read about what we do differently.

1. Drives are our specialty, not an accessory

At Antymateria, we don't treat the drivetrain as just another price list item. It's the derailleurs, cranks, cassettes, and chains we test most often—both at the service station and in the field: from the Barycz Valley, through the gravel roads of the Kłodzko Valley, to the urban jungle with its bypasses and stairs.

We have experience with classic 3x7 setups, modern 1x13 gravel setups, Di2 and AXS, mullets, and CUES drivetrains. We don't just "test it out"—we already know.

2. Diagnosis before adjustment

Instead of immediately turning the barrel, we start with a visual inspection: is the hook straight? Is the line rusted in the casing? Does the cassette look like a wood saw after a season in the mud?

These are the basics, which are often not done in a hurry. In our case, it's a must. Because it's not an art to force something. The trick is to find the real cause: whether it's a loose axle in the hub, a bent sprocket, or the wrong chain length after replacement.

3. Transparency, i.e. we do not sell the chain by force

We like honest repairs. If your chain still lasts a season, we'll tell you. But if your cassette has just started chewing up your new chain like paper, you'll also be told, without a hitch, that it's time to replace the whole set.

We'll show you the wear, explain how it happened, and recommend alternatives. We have parts from all over the place—from Deore to GRX and Force—but we won't force anything. You're servicing your bike for yourself, not for our sales target.

4. Electronics? We don't learn on your bike.

Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, Campagnolo EPS—electronics have ceased to be a luxury and have become the norm on above-average bikes. But many service technicians still lack the tools, software, or experience to actually do anything beyond plugging in a charger.

Di2 and AXS are a daily occurrence for us. E-Tube diagnostics, firmware updates, port cleaning, and app-based resets—it's not magic, it's standard. Do you have a bike with electronic shifting and are worried something isn't clicking? We'll take care of it.

5. We talk normally, not through a directory

Not everyone wants a detailed explanation of the difference between Shadow RD+ and regular RD. But if you're interested, we're happy to show you. And we'll tell you why one chain is better than the other for your riding style.

We know all the models—but we don't speak like a catalog. We know real-world cases, assembly errors, material differences, and those strange sounds you only hear under load in 4th gear, from the bottom.

Dirty, skipping, unclickable? Come on in.

If your drivetrain isn't working properly—whether it's 1x, 2x, Di2, or the classic Altus—drop in to our bike repair shop at Polak in Wrocław. We'll walk you through the problem step by step, let you know what and why, and fix it so you can forget about shifting again... and focus on riding.
