Thousand Next – a helmet for teenagers. What do we know before the premiere?
Thousand announces the Next model, a new helmet for teenagers, planned for release on March 24. At the moment, it is still an announcement. There are no tests or wider reviews, but the initial information allows us to determine the direction of this project.

For the record: Thousand is an American brand known for urban helmets where functionality combines with a clear emphasis on aesthetics. Models like Heritage or Chapter are closer to lifestyle than competitive sports.
Next fits this line of thinking but is aimed at a different user group.
It's a helmet for people who have outgrown the JR line but don't necessarily want to opt for adult gear. This segment has been largely overlooked until now. Children's helmets quickly become unsuitable, both in size and appearance. On the other hand, adult models can be too large or simply not meet the needs of younger users.

Next tries to organize this transition period.
The size range (approx. 52–57 cm) precisely targets this group. The form remains simple and understated, closer to urban models than children's ones. There are no patterns or forced attempts at "youthful" design. It's more of a scaled-down version of an adult helmet than an evolution of JR.
Functionally, Thousand sticks to proven solutions. The dial-fit system, magnetic buckle, rear light compatibility, and anti-theft features are a familiar set from other brand models. No experiments, but no deficiencies either.
The announced color variants fit Thousand's aesthetic but are distinctly lighter and more youthful. A subdued base broken by a contrasting stripe and details avoids both a childish style and an overly "adult" character.

The suggested price of around $85 positions Next in the middle of the urban lifestyle helmet segment.
At this stage, it's hard to go beyond assumptions. There are no tests or user reviews, and the model itself appears rather quietly.
However, looking at the starting point, the direction seems right. Thousand is trying to adapt existing solutions to an often-overlooked age group. The premiere is next Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
