Brompton x and wander G Line. A folding bike for the city and beyond

Brompton x and wander G Line. A folding bike for the city and beyond

Brompton has unveiled a limited-edition G Line prepared in collaboration with the Japanese outdoor brand and wander. It is a special edition of the largest Brompton yet — a bike that, with the G Line alone, has taken the folding bike concept a step further than just the classic city, subway, and commute routine.

In short: this bike looks like a Brompton ready for the weekend. It still folds, it still carries the brand's character, but it sits on larger wheels, offers more stability, and leans much more heavily toward riding on rougher asphalt, gravel, and paths beyond the most obvious urban routes.

The and wander edition of the G Line

The base is the Brompton G Line: a steel frame, 20-inch wheels, hydraulic disc brakes, and an 8-speed Shimano Alfine hub. This version adds a textured, metallic grey paint job, yellow anodized details, reflective elements, special branding, and several components prepared specifically for this collaboration.

This isn't a bike pretending to be an expedition rig. More interesting is the direction itself: Brompton is taking its most versatile model and adding the language of the outdoors, weekends, and riding beyond perfectly smooth asphalt.

The accessories are the most interesting part

In this collaboration, a lot is happening around storage. There is a backpack that mounts to the front of the bike, which acts as a normal backpack once removed from the Brompton. There is also a smaller, 3-liter roll-top pouch that can be attached to the handlebars or the saddle loops, and then worn as a crossbody bag.

This is very "Brompton" thinking: the bike doesn't end the moment you get off it. It continues to work for you in the city, on the train, at work, on a walk, and on the road beyond the pavement.

Why does this fit the Brompton brand?

Because the G Line has been the least "office-oriented" Brompton from the start. Classic models are great for solving daily urban logistics. The G Line does the same, but offers more peace of mind on uneven roads, better stability, and more sense for longer rides.

The and wander version boosts this well. Not through a revolution in specifications, but through the whole aesthetic: the color, details, luggage, and a way of thinking about the bike as an object that transitions between city life and the weekend without needing to change equipment.
