Why is it worth having a custom-made bike?

It's no wonder we believe this and insist it's worth it—after all, it's what we do for a living. But why do we do what we do? Because we believe that a unique, custom-built bicycle has specific advantages, and at the same time, it doesn't have to be an elite product at an absurd price. Sure, our bikes are more expensive than mass-produced models with similar components. However, they have advantages that more than compensate for these differences, and that's what this post is about.

Optimal configuration

Is a custom bike the best option for everyone? Of course not. Many people treat a bike as an occasional toy, an impersonal piece of training equipment, or the cheapest possible means of transportation. When price is the priority and expectations are low, this would simply be a triumph of style over substance.

steel gravel
Gravel bikes are a very diverse group. Many customers want to build a gravel bike in an unusual configuration. This one, for example, is very road-oriented. We're looking for matching painted hubs, spokes, and pedal bodies.

Above all, when building a custom bike, we can tailor every element to the customer's needs. This often means carefully considering those needs – and this is where an experienced salesperson is invaluable. The most expensive components aren't always the best for everything. For example, top-of-the-line sports groupsets – the pursuit of the lowest possible weight impacts their durability. Therefore, it's worth adapting the drivetrain to the riding requirements. And this is just one aspect, because the wheels, for example, are more important. Hand-laced with components tailored to your weight and riding style, they will last a long time and ensure the best performance. We always discuss with the customer how they use the bike to select things like tires and handlebars. We often find that we can suggest completely unexpected solutions, or even a bike type better suited to their needs.

You won't find frames and paints like these anywhere else.

A custom bike has unique parts

It's also worth noting that with one-off production, we can directly install parts from niche and boutique brands, such as BLB or Factory 5. Such components never end up in mass-produced factory bikes. And, of course, our frames, which you won't find anywhere else. We're a small company that doesn't have to compromise on frame geometry and styling. Our bikes are agile and responsive, which may not appeal to everyone, but they're perfect for those who value dynamic riding. We don't try to please everyone.

Perfect dimensions

When buying a "ready-made" bike, you have to consider the need to customize it to your dimensions. This isn't a problem here – we'll select the exact brackets, saddle, and grips right away. Furthermore, there's no need to convince the customer with a single, visible component. It's common practice to install an expensive rear derailleur at the expense of shifters or a cassette. A custom bike is balanced, and all the components are perfectly matched. No showoffs or cheap glitz. If your budget is limited, we can focus on the most important components to achieve the best results.

If you value unique parts, you'll get them here in a seamless package. No tedious assembly or modifications required.

Unusual solutions

Contrary to appearances, most of the bikes we create aren't extravagant machines with exotic parts. However, if you need something special, there's no better place. Belt-mounted bikes , steel road bikes, fixed gear bikes—all kinds of niche solutions that are hard to find in a typical bike shop. Especially in small or large sizes. And thanks to our partnership with Rychtarski, we can also create a custom frame for you.

A custom bike is unique

Appearance also matters. The color of the frame and parts, and custom paintwork. You're only limited by the components and paints available on the market, and believe me, there's no shortage of them. You can create the one-of-a-kind bike of your dreams. And you certainly won't find another one like it on the street. And it also discourages thieves – a custom bike is easily identifiable. This isn't possible with mass-produced bikes, where consistency is key.

You won't find another one like this. Interesting fact - this bike has derailleurs and a freewheel... in the bottom bracket.

Attention to detail - the custom bike is assembled by hand

Every screw is properly tightened, every thread checked. We hand-brace the wheels and tighten the spokes at the initial inspection once they're set. Hand-made production ensures a perfect fit of components, housings, and cables. We know our bikes down to the last detail, so we can set them up perfectly. There's no room for imperfections or compromises—everything must function perfectly.
